OKARA, Nov 13: Three men allegedly killed a woman with repeated brick blows on the suspicion of dung cake theft at Haveli Lakha.

The Haveli Lakha police registered a case under sections 302 and 304 of PPC against Muhammad Khan and his two accomplices on the complaint of Muhammad Ramzan.

The complainant said the three men overpowered Jahangiran Bibi, an ageing woman, and inflicted wounds on her with repeated brick blows while declaring her a dung cake thief. She expired in hospital.

The police claimed to have arrested Muhammad Khan. ASI KILLED: An assistant sub-inspector was killed while his pillion – a constable – suffered injuries in an accident on GT Road near Akhtarabad on Friday night.

Reports said a car hit ASI Manzoor Ahmad (who was posted at Renala Khurd city) and constable Afzal who were going to the police station by a motorcycle. Manzoor died on the spot while Afzal was hospitalised with injuries. CASE: The district police have registered a case against 12 prayer leaders on the charge of misuse of loudspeaker.

On the instructions of the Home department, District Police Officer Muhammad Azeem Arshad directed the officials to check misuse of loudspeaker at mosques.—Correspondent
