KARACHI, Aug 15: The Anti-Terrorism Court-II on Friday adjourned till Aug 28 the hearing of the corps commander convoy attack case, observing that the original file of the case was with the Sindh High Court.

The prosecution has submitted to the court that Qasim Toori, stated to be an activist of the banned militant outfit, Jundullah, along with his associates, had attacked on the convoy of Lt-Gen Ahsan Saleem Hayat, retired then corps commander of Karachi, near the Clifton bridge on June 10, 2004.

Eleven people were killed and another 12 injured in the attack. The corps commander, however, escaped unhurt in the ambush.

Ten persons found involved in the attack have already been awarded death sentence by an anti-terrorism court. Their appeals against the ATC judgment are pending before the Sindh High Court.
