QUETTA, June 23: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said that law-enforcement agencies have arrested some important people in connection with the recent acts of terrorism in Quetta.

Talking to DawnNews after chairing the syndicate meeting of the Balochistan University of Information and Technology and Management Sciences on Saturday, he said that soon a breakthrough was expected in this regard.

“The important people are under investigation who have given some important information to investigators,” he said.

He said the government had information about the presence of some criminals in Afghanistan and Kandahar Governor Asadullah Khalid had confirmed that some Baloch families hailing from Dera Bugti and Kohlu had taken refuge in Kandahar due to military operation in the areas.

He said that since Pakistan had a porous border with Afghanistan and it had taken up the issue with the Afghan government to handover the criminals to face the law in Pakistan.”

He said: “To greater extent the network of the criminals and saboteurs has been dismantled because three and half years ago you know the position.”
