BANNU, May 6: Sindh Reds registered a 3-0 victory over University Grant Commission (UGC) in the 45th National Football Championship played over here at the Jinnah Sports Complex on Tuesday.

After a goalless first half, the winner opened their account in the 51st minute when skipper Akbar Ali made no mistake with a penalty kick.

Sixteen minutes later, M. Musa doubled the score, while Aurangzeb scored the third goal for his side three minutes before the final whistle.

In another encounter, Punjab Reds whitewashed Fata Sports 4-0.

Mohammad Saeed scored the first goal for Punjab Reds in the 26th minute and held on to the lead till the breather.

When play resumed, Punjab Reds went further ahead in the 59th minute of play, when Samiullah scored after dodging past a host of defenders.

Seven minutes later, Saki Rehman beat the onrushing goal-keeper all ends up to increase the tally 3-0 and in the 83rd minute, Allah Din scored his team’s fourth goal to seal the match in Punjab Reds’ favour.
