TIMERGARA, March 27: Former district general secretary of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Jehan Dastagir advocate on Wednesday announced to quit the party and joined the Pakistan Muslim League-N along with his family and friends.

He made the announcement during a news conference at the Timergara Press Club where PML-N provincial joint secretary Farooq Iqbal, Lower Dir president Malik Behram Shahzada, youth wing vice president Farid Khan Yousafzai, Balambat president Samiullah Khatir and other local leaders were also present.

Besides Dastagir advocate, other members of the PTI, including Ilyas Khan, Junaid Khan, Bakht Jamal and Imran and Bacha Mir Khan of the PPP also announced to join the PML-N.

Speaking on the occasion Jehan Dastagir said he had been active in politics since 1999 and was made general secretary of the PTI in 2002. He said after realising the fact that only Mian Nawaz Sharif could steer the nation out of the crises he decided to join the PML-N.

PPP WORKERS: Former union council nazims of PPP on Wednesday opposed the party decision of awarding ticket to former provincial minister Mahmood Zeb Khan for PK-94 and demanded of the provincial leadership to remove workers’ reservations in this regard.

Speaking at a news conference Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Mohammad Israr, Jehan Bahadar, Siasat Hayat, Mushtaq Ahmad, former district president Aurang Zeb Khan, Alam Zeb and others alleged the PPP provincial leadership had formed a committee led by former MPA Abdul Akbar Khan to meet workers in Lower Dir to decide party ticket after consultation with them. But, they said the committee did not bother to visit Lower Dir.
