ABBOTTABAD: The new building of the rapid assessment and reception was formally inaugurated at the Ayub Teaching Hospital to offer better healthcare facilities to patients visiting the health facility for treatment.

Chairman Ayub Teaching Hospital Board of Governors Prof Abid Jamil inaugurated the new building, saying this would help provide patients with better medical care.

The project aims to improve emergency services, facilitate patients and their attendants and reduce rush and long queues at the hospital. The new building has also increased the number of slip counters.

Dr Abid Jamil directed that all counters be operated under a uniform and integrated system, with all necessary slips available at every counter so that patients do not have to move from one counter to another or wait unnecessarily.

He stressed that emergency patients often arrive at the hospital in severe distress and should not be subjected to complicated procedures or unnecessary delays.

He directed the hospital administration to ensure quick access to medical examination and related facilities through a modern and integrated system.

During his visit, the chairman inspected the Emergency Department and reviewed the arrangements being made to improve patient care.

He said that equipping Ayub Teaching Hospital with modern medical facilities and providing better healthcare services to the people of Hazara were among the top priorities of the Board of Governors.

Dr Abid Jamil expressed confidence that a modern emergency building and a fully equipped burn unit would soon be available at Ayub Teaching Hospital for the people of Hazara.

He also visited the walk-in clinic and reviewed the facilities available to patients.

He instructed the hospital director and maintenance department for further improvement of patient facilities and directed that ongoing construction and repair works be completed within the stipulated time.
