ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has constituted a three-member sub-committee to oversee the distribution of plots and flats reserved for journalists and media workers by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).
According to a notification issued by the Senate Secretariat, Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi has been named convener of the sub-committee, while Senators Jan Muhammad and Abdul Shakoor Khan will be its members.
Under the terms of reference (ToRs), the sub-committee will oversee the timely and transparent distribution of plots and flats reserved for journalists and media workers by the FGEHA and review the existing quotas allotted to journalists and media workers for plots and flats by the authority.
The notification states that the sub-committee shall submit its report to the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting within 60 days of its first meeting, or within 15 days of the issuance of the notification, whichever is earlier.
All concerned have been requested to extend full cooperation to the sub-committee for the early completion of the task.
