Thieves take away valuables from temple in Rohri

SUKKUR: Unknown suspects sneaked into the Baba Mangaldas Temple in Rohri in the early hours of Sunday and took away some valuables, caretakers of the temple said.

The incident caused serious concern among members of the local Hindu community who demanded adequate security for their religious places.

Local Hindu Panchayat’s Mukhhi Vicky Lal Dojija immediately reported the incident to the SHO and DSP concerned after which a police team visited the temple and collected evidence.

The Punchayat demanded immediate arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen items. It also called for beefed up security at all places of worship belonging to the Hindu community.
