RAWALPINDI: Two persons were killed while three others injured in road accidents in Rawat police area on Sunday.

In the first accident, a motorcycle rider was killed while three others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on Chak Beli Road.

According to a police report, motorcycle rider Zaheer Ahmad, 45, was traveling from Rawat towards Basali along with his friend. When he reached near Chak Beli Mor, his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. As a result, he sustained head injuries and died on the spot while his friend and two other motorcyclists were injured.

The dead and injured were shifted to Rural Health Centre (RHC) Baga Sheikhan while the police launched an investigation.

In the second road accident, a man, in his 50s, was hit and killed by an unidentified vehicle near Radio Pakistan Rawat on Sunday.

Initial police report suggested that a car hit an unidentified person while he was walking along the road in Rawat area. As a result, the man sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
