Two suspects killed in ‘encounter’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two suspects involved in murder of a businessman have been killed during an alleged encounter with Jaranwala Saddar police.

The deceased, identified as Akbar of Chak 58-GB and Suhaib of Chak 234-GB, had killed businessman Malik Sakhawat during a robbery.

According to sources, both suspects were under arrest and the police were taking them for recovery when their five accomplices opened fire on the police van and freed them near Chak 353-GB. After a shoot-out, both the suspects were injured by their accomplices who managed to escape from the scene. Both of them were shifted to Jaranwala THQ Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. Police claimed that they were involved in dozens of cases of robbery.
