PESHAWAR: In a significant recognition of emerging literary talent, renowned writer, columnist and gold medalist short-story specialist Maryam Khan was conferred the prestigious Fakhr-i-Pakistan Award at a national literary conference organised by Pasban Bazm-i-Qalam Pakistan.
She received her first-ever award on her maiden short stories collection. The writer hailed from Chakdarra, Lower Dir. Literary circles have appreciated the award committee for encouraging woman literati.
The special ceremony held in Abbottabad celebrated outstanding contributions to literature. Organisers presented the award to Maryam Khan in acknowledgement of her academic excellence, creative achievements and intellectual services to Urdu literature.
