BAHAWALPUR: The Cholistan Development Authority (CDA), under the CM’s scheme, began distribution of land allotment orders (five acres each) among 10,290 eligible land families, selected by ballots in the first phase.
They were selected out of a total 52,158 applicants. The allotment letters to a number of men and women selected allottees were given away by MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja, Divisional Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia and CDA MD Shahid Hassan Kalyani in a ceremony on Friday.
The commissioner said the Punjab government would provide the allottees with incentives like financial assistance at the rate of Rs50,000 per acre to bring the desert land under cultivation.
