DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dera Ismail Khan, has declared matriculation exam results. In the science group, Hafsa Noor of Leeds School and College, Dera, secured first position, securing 1,177 marks out of the total 1,200.
Muiz Khan of Cadet College, Spinkai, secured second position with 1,173 marks, and Misbah Aslam of Al-Abbas Science School and College, Dera, stood third, obtaining 1,168 marks. The results were announced at a ceremony here on Friday.
Controller of examinations Dr Qaiser Anwar said in the science group, of the total 18,865 candidates who appeared, 18,100 passed, with a pass rate of 95.94pc, while 5,377 of the 6,062 candidates appearing in the arts group passed, recording a pass rate of 88.70pc.
In the arts group, Aneeda Bibi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Malazai, Tank, secured first position with 1,073 marks.
Two private candidates, Hazratullah and Razaullah, and Ayesha Nawaz of Government Girls High School, Yarik, jointly secured second position with 1,071 marks each. Private candidate Mohammad Fayyaz stood third with 1,070 marks. Shields, certificates and prizes were distributed among the position holders.
