ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Pakistani nationals deported from Turkiye for illegally crossing the border and handed them over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal action.
According to FIA Islamabad Zone, the deportees arrived via flight 9P747 from Turkiye on Tuesday and were taken into custody.
Initial investigation revealed that all the deportees had paid between Rs200,000 to Rs1.2 million to different agents to enter Turkiye through illegal routes. Turkish police arrested them at different times and deported them to Pakistan.
The probe further revealed that except for Mohammad Naeem, none of the deportees had any record of departure from Pakistan in the IBMS system. Naeem had left Pakistan via Taftan on November 19, 2025. Their visas were arranged by agents. An FIR has been registered against the suspects under Sections 3 and 4 of the Passport Act 1974.
The role of the agents involved will be determined during the investigation. Further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the FIA Immigration at Islamabad International Airport offloaded an Australian passport holder of Afghan origin on Tuesday for allegedly obtaining a Pakistani family visa on the basis of a fake marriage certificate.
According to FIA, the passenger was intercepted during secondary profiling while attempting to board an Emirates flight EK-613 to Australia. During detailed scrutiny of travel documents, officials found that the passenger had misrepresented facts to obtain a Pakistani family visa.
The man claimed to have married a Pakistani national, Maryam Anwar, and presented a marriage certificate as proof. However, during profiling he failed to provide any evidence of the marriage. The marriage registration certificate was also found to be fake and had been prepared solely to obtain a Pakistani visa.
Initial investigation revealed that the passenger had entered Pakistan on May 29 on the family visa obtained through fake documents.
