MNA Iqbal Channar passes away

BAHAWALPUR: MNA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar died here on Saturday after a protracted illness at Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH). He was 76.

He was the father of Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar and had been a Punjab minister and MPA for three times in 2002, 2008 and 2013. He was declared elected as MNA in 2024.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz have condoled his death.

Malik Iqbal Channar was admitted to the BVH after brain hammeriage a few days back and had been in ICU.

A large number of people attended his funeral prayers at Dring Stadium on Saturday. He was laid to rest in his ancestarol graveyard.
