RAWALPINDI: After failing to prepare an annual budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, despite a month having passed, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Saturday asked to immediately finalise the budget.
Speaking in a meeting, he stressed that the budget should be prepared on priority basis, keeping in view the development needs of the city, financial discipline, and efficient utilisation of available resources. He reviewed the progress of ongoing and upcoming development projects of the authority.
In the meeting, Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani reviewed the status of various development projects being undertaken by the authority and emphasised the need for timely completion of all ongoing schemes while ensuring quality, transparency, and adherence to approved timelines.
The commissioner also discussed the planning and implementation strategy for upcoming development projects aimed at improving urban infrastructure and public facilities in Rawalpindi.
He further instructed all concerned officials to work in close coordination to expedite the budget preparation process so that development activities and public service delivery could continue without any delay.
Mr Ghani reiterated that RDA is committed to promoting planned urban development, improving civic infrastructure, and ensuring the effective execution of development projects in the public interest.
He emphasised that all directors of RDA should ensure effective coordination among their respective wings for the timely execution of development projects and efficient utilisation of available resources.
He emphasised that regular monitoring, prompt decision-making, and strict adherence to administrative and financial rules are essential to achieve the Authority’s development objectives and to provide quality public services in a transparent and accountable manner.
