TOBA TEK SINGH: Three youths died after drinking poisonous liquor in Faisalabad.
According to the FIR registered by the Jhang Bazaar Police on the complaint of investigation officer Muhammad Muzammil, he was informed about the death of three people near Hameed Park due to consuming poisonous liquor.
He claimed that the witnesses apprised him that on May 29, unidentified persons came to the area in a rickshaw and delivered the liquor to the three victims, identified as Shahzad of Saifabad, Nadeem of Sukhar and Usman of New Gulberg area.
They claimed that after drinking the liquor, the condition of the three victims deteriorated and Shahzad and Nadim died on May 31 and were later buried. They further claimed that Usman also died on Wednesday.
Witnesses further told him that the unidentified persons had exchanged harsh words with the deceased and they allegedly poisoned them to take a revenge.
However, sources claimed that the poisonous alcohol was supplied from the limits of the Factory Area Police Station by a drug dealer, while it was consumed at a gathering arranged on the main highway in the limits of the Gulfshan Colony Police post area.
Sources said the three friends who died were addicts and a drug dealer supplied them with a locally-made poisonous liquor.
The three friends then arranged a gathering at the Saifabad Road rickshaw stand on the third day of Eid and drank the poisonous alcohol on the street. When their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to the Ghulam Muhammadabad General Hospital where on May 31, 27-year-old Shahzad died and an hour later, Nadeem (25) also died. The third victim Usman (30) died on Wednesday.
The sources further claimed that there were four youths who had consumed the liquor on the day and the fourth had miraculously survived.
Sources claimed that the fourth youth was Saqib, a resident of Saifabad.
