Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has promised to Japan that it will enable the passage of its ships through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been mostly closed since the start of the Middle East war in February, AFP reports.

“We will try to provide a smooth and easy passage for Japanese ships,” Pezeshkian has told Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during a phone conversation, according to the presidency.
