GUJRAT: The new building of Gujrat district public prosecution department was inaugurated on Thursday by Adviser to Chief Minister on Prosecution Affairs Rana Bilal at a ceremony.
Located in the compound of district administration, the office building equipped with updated facilities and completed at a cost of Rs83.12m, has formally been handed over to the department.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Secretary Punjab Prosecution Department Suleman Ghani, Prosecutor General Punjab Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Public Prosecution Department Punjab, District Public Prosecutor Gujrat Naeem Nazir, DDPP Gujrat Syed Toqir ul Hassan, ADPPs Muhammad Asif and Rab Nawaz Ranjha, along with other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Bilal said the Punjab government was taking steps to modernise the prosecution system and provide a better working environment for officers in order to improve the process of justice delivery.
He said modern infrastructure and improved facilities would significantly enhance the quality of prosecution services and make case proceedings more effective. He said measures were also being taken to improve the service structure of prosecutors.
