QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a joint resolution congratulating Pakistan’s armed forces on their “remarkable success” in Marka-i-Haq, defending the country, safeguarding national security and foiling the enemy’s “malicious intentions”.
The provincial lawmakers said the Pakistan Army had responded to India in such a manner that “its generations will remember it”, adding that had the war continued for a few more days, “India would have been wiped off the map”. They said the day of victory in Marka-i-Haq was being celebrated like a festival. Tribute was paid to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their “wise leadership and timely decisions”.
Soon after the session began, Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai invited Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to move the joint resolution in the house.
The chief minister said the assembly paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces for their outstanding success in defending the country, safeguarding national security and thwarting enemy designs. He stated that the response included the downing of seven enemy aircraft, destruction of multiple air bases and defence systems, and the neutralisation of several military posts.
He said Marka-i-Haq made it evident that any aggression against the country would not be tolerated.
The resolution declared that these developments were not merely symbolic victories but a historic turning point that further strengthened Pakistan’s strategic resolve and drew a permanent line regarding regional defence strategy and the balance of power. It emphasised that any aggression or adventurism would not be tolerated.
Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi said the Pakistani nation had delivered a crushing response to Indian aggression and that Pakistan’s armed forces had destroyed India’s defence system and “buried its arrogance in the dust”.
Opposition Leader Mir Younas Aziz Zehri supported the resolution, saying the Pakistan Army’s response to India would be remembered for generations and had proved that no one could cast an evil eye on Pakistan. He congratulated the field marshal, prime minister, president and the nation on the success.
Separately, Minister Buledi, while addressing a ceremony, said Marka-i-Haq was an important initiative aimed at promoting national unity, awareness and positive thinking among the younger generation.
He said that just as the armed forces had achieved success in Marka-i-Haq and exposed the reality of the enemy on the global stage, the patriotic people of Balochistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the security forces.
He said the youth of Balochistan represented the bright future of the country and that the government was providing them opportunities through education, research and positive activities to contribute effectively to national development.
