Marka-i-Haq celebrated

LAHORE: Educational institutes of the city continued to hold ceremonies to celebrate ‘Marka-i-Haq’ on Friday.

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Tribune Society organised a seminar titled “Battle of Truth — In the Context of One Year of Bunyan-al-Marsoos” to highlight Pakistan’s geographical, strategic, and intellectual significance in the contemporary global and regional context while raising awareness among the youth.

Addressing the seminar, UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and security institutions. He stated that the nature of warfare had significantly evolved, shifting from traditional battlefields to domains such as science, technology, cyberspace, and artificial intelligence.

He emphasised that engineers of UET must serve as “soldiers of science and technology” to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and technological self-reliance.

Dr Rabia Akhtar from University of Lahore stated that Pakistan holds a pivotal position in international geopolitics due to its unique geographical location.

She further emphasised that modern warfare was no longer limited to military confrontation but had been increasingly driven by information, narrative building, media influence, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence. She also highlighted that Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, continues to play a significant role in promoting regional stability and global peace.

She stressed the importance of equipping the younger generation with advanced scientific knowledge, technological expertise, and intellectual resilience so that Pakistan may effectively respond to future challenges and emerge as a strong and respected global state.

The seminar was attended by renowned educationist Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi, Dr Rana Tanveer Qasim, Dr Amna Niazi, Dr Ubaidullah, and Ayesha Altaf. Registrar Muhammad Asif was also present on the occasion. Participants appreciated the seminar as highly informative, intellectually engaging, and relevant to contemporary global challenges.

Earlier, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organised week-long activities in connection with Marka-i-Haq celebrations and Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos.

The activities aimed to promote patriotism, national unity, resilience, and civic responsibility among students while paying tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding the sovereignty of the country.

The vice chancellor highlighted that Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos stands as a symbol of unity, resilience, and strategic strength, reflecting the nation’s collective commitment to peace and security.

Meanwhile, the Department of International Relations organised a seminar titled “Peace and Stability: The Role of Marka-i-Haq & Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos in National Integration of Pakistan” at the IT Seminar Hall.

The seminar highlighted the importance of national unity, peace, and collective responsibility in strengthening Pakistan’s national integration.

The keynote speaker shared insightful views on peace, national cohesion, patriotism, and the role of youth and academia in promoting social harmony and stability in Pakistan.

Faculty members and students actively participated in the activities.

Lawyers: PML-N Lawyers Forum on Friday expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army on completion of one year since “Marka-i-Haq Bunyanun Marsoos.”

Addressing a gathering at the Lahore High Court, leaders of the forum said lawyers across Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces for the defence of the country.

They said the response given by the Pakistan Army to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Operation Sindoor” a year ago would always be remembered.

Speaking on the occasion, forum president Rafaqat Dogar said the legal fraternity fully supported the armed forces in safeguarding the sovereignty and stability of Pakistan.

He said the nation stood united with its armed forces and paid tributes to the sacrifices rendered by soldiers and officers for the security and integrity of the country.

HAL: The metropolitan city of Lahore marked ‘Marka-i-Haq’ with great enthusiasm and fervour with a number of events to mark the bravery of the armed forces for giving a befitting reply to India.

The Horticulture Agency Lahore – formerly the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore, organised special celebrations and beautifully decorated floats across the city to mark the first celebrations of the historic victory in the “Battle of Truth.”

PHA Lahore installed magnificent and eye-catching floats outside the Jilani Park, which moved through various major roads of the city. “The purpose of these floats is to pay tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and national leadership while promoting the spirit of patriotism among the public,” said HAL Managing Director Raja Mansoor Ahmad while talking to the media on this occasion.

He stated that these floats highlighted the bravery, courage, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army. He said that on May 8, Pakistan’s armed forces gave a strong response to the enemy and crushed its malicious intentions. He further said that the armed forces demonstrated exceptional professionalism and bravery, delivering a decisive blow to the enemy, making the entire nation proud of its defenders.

The MD said that a grand “Azm-e-Aalishan Concert” was held at the Liberty Chowk and renowned singers performed to mark the event.
