World oil prices drop 5pc on hopes over US-Iran war talks

Global oil prices have fallen more than 5 per cent on optimism over talks aimed at ending the Middle East war, AFP reports.

International benchmark, Brent North Sea crude, shed 5.1pc to $96.06 a barrel.

The main US contract, West Texas Intermediate, lost 5.5pc to $89.87.
