Oil prices drop more than 5pc after Trump sends peace plan

Brent crude oil, the global market benchmark, has dropped close to six per cent after US President Donald Trump sent a peace plan to Iran, AFP reports.

At around 00:30 GMT (5:30pm PKT), a barrel of Brent crude was down 5.92pc at $98.30. Benchmark US oil contract, West Texas Intermediate, was down 5.01pc at $87.72.
