He identified the injured boys as Qudratullah, Ejaz, Abu Bakkar, Maaz, Ahmad, Zafran, Hussain and Shah Suleman and said that they were immediately shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital in Serai Naurang town.

“After the attack, a large police contingent reached the area and launched a search for the terrorists,” he added.

Meanwhile, a fire erupted in the mountainous forest in the Neki Banda area of Karak district, prompting the rescue emergency service to swing into action, a rescue official said on Thursday.

He said the difficult mountainous terrain was located in the Bandas Daud Shah town of the district and the firefighters of the rescue emergency services faced hardship in reaching there.

He said the firefighters used manual techniques to extinguish the fire before it could become uncontrollable.

The official said that after hectic efforts the rescue personnel succeeded in containing the flames and completed the mop-up operation.
