GUJRAT: The immigration authorities of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have foiled an attempt to travel on forged citizenship card of Spain by a Gujranwala resident at Sialkot International Airport on Tuesday.

An FIA official said one Mehran Ahmed of Gujranwala was going to Spain through flight number QR-627 on Spanish resident card.

During the scrutiny of documents, the picture on the card suspected as forged upon which the passenger was referred to the senior officials.

During the course of investigation, the passenger revealed that he had changed the picture of his Spanish resident card and got pasted his brother Zain Ahmed’s picture through an online process and got the new card issued so that his brother could travel to Spain.

The immigration authorities detained the passenger and later handed him over to the anti-human trafficking cell, Gujranwala, for further legal action.
