UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says statehood for the Palestinians is a “right, not a reward”.
“Denying statehood would be a gift to extremists everywhere,” Guterres posted on X, adding that the two-state solution is the only “credible path to a just [and] lasting peace between Israelis [and] Palestinians and to wider peace [and] security in the Middle East”.
