KARACHI: Bodies of four people, who drowned in three separate incidents on Thursday evening, were recovered on Friday, rescue officials said.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that 12-year-old Huzaifa had gone with his family for a picnic at Hub Canal, where he drowned while swimming. The body was found floating in the water and later handed over to his relatives.

In another incident, two young men drowned while swimming in the same Hub Canal near Manghopir. Their bodies were also recovered on Friday. They were identified as Asad Nawab, 32, and Faizan Ali, 24.

In the evening, body of fourth drowning victim Waseem Atta, was recovered from Hawkesbay near Turtle Beach.

The Edhi Foundation spokesperson said Waseem, 24, and another man drowned while swimming in the sea on Thursday and the body of the other victim is yet to be recovered.
