Humanitarian group Mercy Corps has warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is escalating as no aid truck has been allowed into the Strip for an entire month, Al Jazeera reports.

According to the NGO, 85 per cent of Gaza’s population no longer has access to basic food items. It adds that 34 hospitals and 80 health centres have been destroyed, while severe medical supply shortages have crippled healthcare.

All remaining bakeries are shutting down due to lack of fuel, leaving families with no means to access food, according to Mercy Corps.

Food is becoming increasingly scarce, prices are skyrocketing, and people are being pushed to the brink of survival, Mercy Corps members in Gaza report.
