A security delegation from Egypt is in Qatar for Gaza ceasefire talks, which will include increasing aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave and releasing remaining captives, Al Jazeera reports citing state-affiliated Al Qahera News TV reports.

Egypt — one of the key mediators in the Gaza negotiations — has received positive indications from Israel over a new ceasefire proposal that would include a transitional phase, unnamed security sources told Reuters on Thursday.

The proposal suggests Hamas release five Israeli abductees each week, the sources said.

Asked about the latest proposal, an unidentified Palestinian official close to the mediation efforts said, “there are some offers that look better than the previous ones,” it added.
