The Israeli military has said it thwarted a weapons smuggling attempt on the country’s border with Egypt, Al Jazeera reports.

In a joint statement with Israeli police, the army said its forces identified a drone that attempted to move arms from Egypt into Israeli territory yesterday. Troops operating in the area intervened and seized nine weapons and the drone, it added.
