“These casualties are from the attack that happened in the earlier hours of this morning, where a residential home was targeted by F-16s — Israeli fighter jets — that levelled the majority of residential buildings where a family was still inside and without any prior warning whatsoever,” Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports from Gaza City, Gaza.

The injured were rushed to al-Ahli Hospital in civilian vehicles before the ambulances were dispatched from the hospital. Close to 20 are critically injured, among them women and children, he said.

“So far, we are looking at six people killed. That’s four women, a man and a young girl, who were killed in the attacks. There are still four missing and believed to be trapped under the rubble of the bombed home.

“In a different attack, in the city of Khan Younis more to the eastern side of Gaza, there were two more people reported killed in an Israeli air strike.

This is part of the long series of attacks throughout the past 24 hours and concentrated on the central area of Gaza and the city of Khan Younis, claiming more lives and more innocent people, Mahmoud said.

“The fighter jets are still hovering in the skies of Gaza City and keep patrolling the entire Strip from north to south. Every once in a while, we hear explosions taking place in different parts of Gaza City.”
