Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary reports from Khan Younis that Palestinians are very stressed. “They feel that this ceasefire is very fragile.”

“There are Israeli F-16s and drones hovering in the sky, making Palestinians feel that at any minute, Israeli forces can target any place across the Strip.

“Today, Palestinians were supposed to move to another phase of the ceasefire, in which the Rafah crossing opens and more reconstruction happens on the ground,” she said.

But they are still on the move, trying to go to their houses and rebuild whatever they can. There are some who are still unable to reach their homes, as they are located in areas where Israeli forces are stationed, Khoudary said.

“The mood is very stressful. Palestinians are definitely not ready to go back to another wave of aggression.

“We’re talking about 470 days of war in which Palestinians lost literally everything. Thousands were killed, people lost their homes and complete neighbourhoods of Gaza were wiped out. Palestinians are trying to heal from those 470 days of war,” she said.
