South Africa, Malaysia, Colombia say they will prevent ships supplying Israel weapons using ports

Al Jazeera reports that the leaders of South Africa, Malaysia and Colombia penned a joint article this week calling for an end to impunity for Israel’s violations of international law.

“The choice is stark: Either we act together to enforce international law or we risk its collapse,” South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Colombian President Gustavo Petro wrote in an essay published by Foreign Policy magazine.

In that same essay, the leaders jointly announced they would also prevent ships supplying military supplies to Israel from using their ports.

“We will prevent vessels carrying military supplies to Israel from using our ports; and we will prevent all arms transfers that risk enabling further violations of humanitarian law,” they wrote.
