According to details listed by Al Jazeera, the six Israeli captives to be released today are:
Avera Mengitsu, aged 37 — an Ethiopian Israeli who entered the Gaza Strip on his own in September 2014 and was picked up by a Hamas patrol.
Hisham al-Sayed, aged 37 — a Bedouin Israeli who entered the Gaza Strip in April 2015 and was stopped by Hamas and taken captive. He had briefly served in the Israeli military before he was discharged.
Tal Shoham, aged 39 — a dual Israeli Austrian citizen who was taken captive while visiting family in Kibbutz Be-eri. His wife, mother-in-law and two children were taken captive on Oct 7, 2023 but released in a previous exchange.
Eliya Cohen, aged 27 — was taken captive while attending the Nova festival when the October 2023 attack took place.
Omer Wenkert, aged 23 — was also taken captive while attending the concert.
Omer Shem Tov, aged 22 — a computer programmer who had also attended the festival when he was captured.
