The Israeli prime minister has announced increased military operations in the West Bank in a video posted on social media from Tulkarem, in the north of the West Bank, Al Jazeera reports.

Netanyahu said his government has “reinforced the streets in Judea and Samaria [West Bank], according to my directives and those of the defence minister” after a series of bus explosions near Tel Aviv.

“And I have also ordered additional operational activity against terrorist centres,” he said.

The Israeli leader added that over the past year, Israeli forces have “greatly intensified” their activity in the West Bank.
