KARACHI: Pakistan’s national taekwondo team arrived in Sharjah on Sat­urday to participate in the 11th Sharjah Intern­ational Taekwondo Train­ing Camp, which runs until Feb 5.

The camp has brought together teams from around the world, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, UAE and Uzbekistan, with more countries expected to join in coming days.

The camp provides a valuable opportunity for athletes to hone their skills, engage in high-level training sessions, and foster international collaboration in the sport.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is gearing up to host the seventh Asian Taekwondo Open Championships, scheduled to take place from Feb 14 to 20 at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.

According to Pakistan Taekwondo Federation president retired Lt Col Raja Waseem Ahmed Janjua, this will be the fourth international taekwondo event to be held in Pakistan. The athletes’ registration for the said championship is already underway.
