The plight of the Palestinian people remains the world’s longest unresolved refugee crisis and the people of Gaza, the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) notes.

“In the past year, Gaza has experienced the most intense bombardment of a civilian population since World War II,” it pointed out.

Those were just two harrowing facts that the UN has highlighted to mark today’s commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
