Sirens are sounding in areas surrounding the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa following rocket fire from Lebanon, Al Jazeera reports.

The Israeli air force said it intercepted two rockets launched from Lebanon. No casualties or damage were reported.

Rocket sirens also sounded in a number of towns in the Upper Galilee area of northern Israel, including Metula, Misgav Am and Kfar Giladi.
