The UN special coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert has said that “intense blasts reverberate across the night sky” as “Lebanon suffers more” with each day as bombardment causes widespread panic.

In a post on X, Hennis-Plasschaert said that with only “a brief window to escape to safety”, widespread panic spread across the city after new evacuation orders were received.

“But even amid the escalating violence, solutions remain available. If only opportunities would be seized.”
