The Department of Homeland Security says it is authorising certain Lebanese nationals in the United States to remain for the next 18 months and apply for work permits as Israel continues attacking Lebanon, Al Jazeera reports.

The department said in a statement that individuals from Lebanon who were already in the US as of October 16 can apply for Temporary Protected Status.
