Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, has spoken to Al Jazeera about the dire conditions facing health facilities in the north.

Abu Safiya said the situation for hospitals in the besieged area was catastrophic. He called for opening safe corridors to save patients in the area.

The Israeli army launched a ground assault again in northern Gaza 12 days ago, including in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya.
