The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the 407 Australians and their family members departed Beirut on two government-assisted flights, Al Jazeera reports.

It said there were two more flights departing Beirut on Sunday and that they were fully booked.

More flights are planned, subject to conditions on the ground, it said.
