Fuel worth Rs8 million stolen from PSO pipeline

ISLAMABAD: Thieves stole fuel worth over Rs8million from a PSO pipeline laid in the area of Humak during the last three months.

A case has been registered at Humak police station under section 462-B (Tampering with petroleum pipelines) of PPC in response of a complaint lodged by Installation Manger Pakistan State Oil Company Limited Raja Farooq.

According to the FIR, PSO Sihala Installation is attached with Attock Refineries with an eight inches and 15 kilometers long pipeline. Since June 23, 2024, low pressure and shortage in diesel supply were witnessed on daily basis, it added.

The matter was brought to the notice of authorities concerned, besides efforts were also made to trace thieves, the FIR said, adding that recently the patrolling staff of the company spotted suspicious activities around the pipeline.

The culprits stole 302,046 liters diesel worth Rs80,365,379, it added.
