The health ministry in Gaza said that at least 41,788 people have been killed in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, now nearing a year, AFP reports.

The toll includes 99 deaths in the previous 24 hours, according to the ministry, which said 96,794 people have been wounded in the Gaza Strip since the recent conflict began when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.
