‘This is not just a conflict, this is systematic slaughter of the people of Palestine’: PM Shehbaz at UNGA

Speaking at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the ongoing Israeli aggression is “not just a conflict; this is the systematic slaughter of the people of Palestine.”

“Can we as human beings remain silent as children lie buried under the rubble of this shattered homes? Can we turn a blind eye to mothers cradling the lifeless bodies of their children?” he asked while addressing the 193-member UNGA.

“This is not just a conflict, this is the systematic slaughter of the people of Palestine. An assault on the very essence of human life and dignity. The blood of Gaza’s children stains not only the hands of the oppressors, but those who are complicit in prolonging this cruel conflict.

“When we ignore their suffering, we diminish their humanity. We must act now and demand an immediate end to this bloodshed. We must remember that the blood and sacrifice of the innocent Palestinians will never go to waste.

“We must worry about their plight and difficulty and stand by them. We must work for a durable peace through a two-state nation. We must seek a viable, contiguous Palestine with pre 1967 borders and al-Quds sharif as its capital,” PM Shehbaz said.
