Netanyahu refused meeting with UK foreign minister: report

The Israeli prime minister turned down an opportunity to meet with David Lammy during the British foreign minister’s visit to Israel on Friday, Al Jazeera reports, according to Israel’s Channel 13 News.

The broadcaster said Netanyahu was angered by the new British government’s decision to drop a challenge to the International Criminal Court’s jurisdiction to issue an arrest warrant for the Israeli prime minister.

Al Jazeera could not immediately confirm the reports.

Lammy who was in Israel along with his French counterpart Stephane Sojourne on Friday said the pair met Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz as well as Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa.
