Pakistan to offer funeral prayers in absentia for Ismail Haniyeh after Friday prayers

Funeral prayers in absentia will be offered for slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh following Friday prayers, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced at a cabinet meeting.

He noted that Haniyeh was “martyred in Tehran in yet another act of brutality.”

PM Shehbaz reiterated that Pakistan, among other countries, had strongly condemned Haniyeh’s assassination.

He appealed to global peacekeeping institutions to “awaken their conscience” to the brutalities happening Gaza.
