Middle East rocked by 2 high-profile assassinations within 12 hours
Since Tuesday evening until early Wednesday, the Middle East witnessed two assassinations, including of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an Israeli strike on a southern suburb of Beirut and Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital, Tehran, Anadolu Agency reports.
The resistance group Hamas announced that Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting his residence in Tehran.
However, no immediate announcement has been made by Israel on the incident.
The Israeli army also claimed that it killed key Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in a drone strike.
The fate of the Hezbollah leader remains shrouded in mystery following the assassination attempt late Tuesday.
