Israel will be the United States’ strongest ally in the Middle East regardless of who is elected president in November, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said, Reuters reports.

Netanyahu, speaking to reporters before flying to Washington, said that he would thank President Joe Biden — who ended his US reelection bid on Sunday — for all he has done for Israel.

The leaders will also discuss issues like freeing hostages held in Gaza and defeating Hamas, he said.
