Northern Gaza residents ‘resort to eating grass’ as vegetables out of reach
Food shortages are continuing to plague Palestinians in northern Gaza, many of whom depend on charity groups to get just one meal a day, Al Jazeera reports.
Naif Radwan, an elderly man from Jabalia, told Al Jazeera he was demoralised by the sky-high price of vegetables, which were out of reach for most residents.
“Aubergines now cost $14 a kilo,” Radwan said. “All I do is look at them and then leave. Other vegetables that used to cost a dollar are now more than $6.
“People have resorted to eating grass.”
